Meteorologist

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts utilizing all available weather data and graphics computers
• Deliver urgent weather updates and interruptions to regular programming as necessary
• Present weather information across multiple mediums, including TV, radio, and digital platforms
• Report live from event sites or via mobile broadcast units
• Write and produce quality news and weather stories for various media platforms
• Gather and verify factual information through research, observation, and interviews
• Assist management in evaluating new weather data gathering and presentation technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a related field preferred
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record and ability to provide proof of insurance
• Computer literacy, including experience with weather and newsroom computer systems
• Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment and editing systems
• Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
