Meteorologist

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver daily engaging weathercasts for on-air and digital audiences
• Work with the Chief Meteorologist and News Director to implement content and strategy for the morning audience
• Interact live with fans and the audience on multiple platforms, especially during severe weather
• Develop plans for severe weather coverage in collaboration with News Managers
• Pitch and create original weather content for all platforms
• Participate in community outreach efforts, including live shots and station appearances
• Develop chemistry and collaborate effectively with the morning news team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in meteorology
• AMS Certification
• Minimum 5 years of on-air experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily assigned deadlines
• Fluency with social media platforms and management tools (Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube)
• Knowledge of multiplatform newsgathering tools and resources
