Meteorologist

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, compelling, and understandable weather forecasts to viewers
• Deliver urgent weather information during severe weather events to ensure community safety
• Create and deliver weather content across TV, radio, and digital platforms
• Utilize advanced technology and tools to tell engaging weather stories
• Deploy to the field for live reporting during significant weather events
• Interpret radar data and summarize complex information for broadcast

Requirements

• Previous on-air experience is required
• In-depth knowledge of weather science and forecasting
• Proven experience handling breaking news and severe weather coverage
• Proficiency with WSI graphics and common television weather systems
• Ability to interpret and translate high-powered radar data
• Strong organizational skills and a dynamic, conversational on-air presence
• Ability to perform live field reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with radar data interpretation
• Related military training and experience
