Metallurgist

Responsibilities

• Manage small and medium sized metallurgical projects of variable scope and complexity
• Establish scheduling workflows to ensure client deadlines are met
• Participate in large scale pilot plants and interpret results
• Solve day to day production and process problems within the department
• Compile and analyze metallurgical data
• Prepare and compose technical reports for clients
• Manage financial aspects of projects and issue monthly invoices
• Represent the company for business development and client engagement
• Provide technical advice to Technicians, Technologists, and Junior Metallurgists

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Hydrometallurgy, Mining Engineering, Materials Engineering or related science
• 3 - 8 years of experience in a minerals related field
• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising small technical teams
• Experience with financial and budget responsibilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to compose clear and concise technical reports
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel to other SGS locations or plant sites
