Metallurgical Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day laboratory operations, projects, and testing programs to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
• Build strong relationships with clients, team members, suppliers, and contractors
• Plan work schedules, equipment use, and staffing needs to ensure efficient operations
• Prepare clear quotations and proposals while keeping project scope, timing, and costs on track
• Review technical data and reports to ensure accuracy and up-to-date records
• Maintain quality systems, document control, and laboratory standards
• Support and develop the team through training, coaching, and workforce planning
• Lead by example in safety, accountability, and teamwork

Requirements

• Degree in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Confidence working across different commodities and processing methods
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing
• Strong planning, organization, and time management abilities
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
