Metallurgical Laboratory Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day laboratory operations, projects, and testing programs
• Build strong relationships with clients, team members, suppliers, and contractors
• Plan work schedules, equipment use, and staffing needs
• Prepare clear quotations and proposals while managing project scope and costs
• Review technical data, reports, and maintain accurate records
• Monitor project progress, manage variations, and review invoices
• Maintain quality systems, document control, and laboratory standards
• Support and develop the team through training and coaching
• Lead by example in safety, accountability, and teamwork

Requirements

• Degree in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Confidence working across different commodities and processing methods
• Clear written and verbal communication skills including report writing
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
