About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the basket and drum sample review process on the 2nd shift
  • Categorize and prepare stainless-steel and aluminized metal samples according to SOPs
  • Perform testing on drum welds and basket seam samples using Instron, calipers, mics, and high-powered microscopes
  • Investigate root causes of failures and communicate findings to Quality Engineers
  • Input all testing data into the laboratory database
  • Perform operator-level preventive maintenance and gauge calibration for lab equipment
  • Support engineering with new product introduction (NPI) and modified supplier part testing
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab environment through 5S activities

Requirements

  • High school diploma required (College degree strongly preferred)
  • 2+ years of technical experience in manufacturing quality or an engineering lab
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM), Monday through Friday
  • Proficiency with power tools and hand gauges
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within large, cross-functional teams
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn multiple software programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience handling and processing metal samples
  • Six Sigma training or certification
  • Understanding of schematics
  • Experience with lab management, including scheduling and training
  • Understanding of ESD and electronic lab conditions
