About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities and programs for MESA University and MESA College prep programs.
- Plan and execute large-scale events, including MESA Day and various student activities.
- Support K-12 school sites by providing hands-on STEM activities, materials, and teacher support.
- Manage program logistics, including inventory, material orders, and student staff training.
- Maintain MESA enrollment data and manage website and social media updates.
- Assist with university student intake and recruitment efforts for underserved students.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- One (1) year of program coordination, specialist, or administrative experience (or eight years of experience in program coordination/teaching).
- One (1) year of event planning experience for groups of 500 or more guests.
- One (1) year of experience directly related to working with K-16 students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
- Ability to connect with first-generation students and work in fast-paced environments.
- Experience advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into program delivery.

The Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) program at the University of the Pacific is a statewide initiative designed to help underserved and underrepresented students achieve success in STEM studies and careers. We support university students in the School of Engineering and Computer Science as well as K-12 students in the Stockton and Lodi Unified School Districts.
