MES Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and continuously improve Manufacturing Execution System (MES) capabilities to support scalable, standardized shop floor execution.
• Utilize Ignition software for front-end application design and development.
• Translate business and operational requirements into detailed functional specifications.
• Manage day-to-day MES-related issues and support system testing, including UAT and validation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT) to support site deployment, training, and adoption.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and performance improvement.
• Analyze existing software code to implement improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience working with MES platforms, such as Ignition or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Python and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional system specifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across different business functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying new software tools or enterprise systems in a production manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes in discrete or process manufacturing environments.
• Experience working in an ERP-integrated environment (e.g., SAP or Oracle).
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies or IT project management practices.
• Knowledge of production scheduling, quality management, traceability, and data collection.
