Merchandiser, Animal Nutrition

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of ingredients to support the Wholesome Ingredients growth strategy, specifically within the Wild Bird category.
• Develop trading strategies to reduce risk within the ingredient portfolio.
• Coordinate and communicate rail, truck, vessel logistics, inventory positions, and forecasts.
• Identify opportunities to increase ingredient offerings to fulfill customer needs.
• Expand sales with the existing customer base and secure new customers through strategic market focus.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
• Focus on margin enhancement and value-add approaches while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Analyze supply and demand information and market trends to communicate insights to the broader organization.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of professional experience in ingredient sales and procurement.
• Demonstrated understanding of grain markets, hedging, commodity flows, and logistics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Extensive experience in Customer and Supplier Relationship Management.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 15% to meet customers/suppliers and attend industry events.
