About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans to support company financial, product, and marketing objectives.
- Drive business performance to maximize sales and margin while optimizing inventory levels.
- Create sales, gross margin, and inventory plans at the department and product segmentation level.
- Provide weekly updated forecasts to the merchandising team, recommending markdowns and inventory reflows based on historical data and trends.
- Lead the Open to Buy process, including developing 90-day forecasts and directing monthly forecast meetings.
- Manage the pre-season planning process, including reviewing historical performance and creating category and item plans.
- Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, marketing, visual, and finance teams to align on strategic actions and promotional calendars.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in merchandise planning.
- 5+ years of total professional work experience.
- 4-year university degree.
- Strong strategic forecasting and financial planning skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex material to senior management.
