About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for all merchandise revenue streams, including revenue recognition, cost of sales, and balance sheet positions.
- Act as the accounting lead for unusual scenarios and ensure accounting structures withstand external and artist audits.
- Review and approve all reconciliations, reports, and financial summaries.
- Identify gaps in current accounting workflows and implement scalable process improvements.
- Manage vendor cost obligations and coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure correct application of payments in SAP.
- Support US sales tax compliance, including state filings and timely settlement of tax liabilities.
- Directly manage an offshore BPO Team Lead, setting performance expectations and ensuring high-quality output.
- Serve as the primary GFSS accounting contact for merchandise, label finance, and senior management.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designation.
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct team management experience.
- Sound working knowledge of IFRS 15 applied to multi-stream revenue businesses.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP (S/4HANA), specifically across A/R and G/L modules.
- Demonstrated experience with US sales tax compliance.
- Experience managing remote offshore teams.
- Background in entertainment, music, live events, or merchandise industries.
