MEP/Construction Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, consulting engineers, and contractors through the MEP engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
• Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
• Coordinate with electrical utility providers to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
• Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
• 3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of MEP building systems
• Ability to work onsite in Bastrop/Austin area
• Ability to perform hands-on work in various environments and at heights
• Ability to travel to other SpaceX sites up to 25%
• Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)
• Knowledge of HVAC operation and design principles
• Experience with plumbing design and operation
• Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers and facility grounding
• Experience with critical power infrastructure (UPS, backup generators, ATS)
• Beginner to intermediate skill level in AutoCAD or Revit
• Familiarity with NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and IBC
