About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage campus mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure with a focus on leak prevention and reducing contractor spending.
  • Train and support HVAC and maintenance staff to execute maintenance projects and general repairs.
  • Collaborate with the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) team to ensure MEP code compliance on all construction and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, replacement, and repair of MEP systems, prioritizing in-house staff resources.
  • Support proactive Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs and manage MEP equipment inventory.
  • Oversee generator compliance, sprinkler system compliance, and backflow prevention.
  • Advise facilities leadership on infrastructure health, capital renewal needs, and sustainability initiatives such as water and energy reduction.
  • Review work orders to identify repeat equipment issues and ensure proper resource allocation.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, formal comprehensive vocational training, or 20+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in MEP systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and residential mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and ladder diagrams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Sheets/Docs).
  • Ability to analyze equipment to determine root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Strong supervisory, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal comprehensive vocational training in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • 10+ or more years of relevant experience.
