Mentor Montessori Teacher

Responsibilities

• Support the design and evolution of the prepared environment to meet child development needs
• Inventory and recommend classroom materials for all areas of the environment
• Develop lesson plans and materials with a diversity, equity, and inclusivity lens
• Model and support observation, record keeping, and assessment processes
• Use child-level assessment data to plan professional learning for teachers
• Serve as a field consultant for teachers in the Montessori credentialing program
• Assist the Head of School with school operations and administrative tasks
• Provide classroom coverage as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Primary Montessori diploma from an AMI, AMS, or other MACTE-accredited institute
• 5+ years of experience as a primary Montessori lead teacher (ages 3-6)
• 3+ years of experience after earning a primary Montessori diploma
• Proven track record of driving child outcomes and coaching educators
• Ability to meet Kentucky lead early childhood teacher credentialing criteria
• Experience monitoring and maintaining accurate student progress records
• Experience working effectively across lines of difference

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in child development, curriculum, or early childhood education
• Knowledge of Reggio Emilia or Waldorf pedagogies
• Experience applying DEI best practices in educator development
• Proficiency with child and adult learning assessment methods
