Mentor Montessori Teacher

Responsibilities

• Coach teachers to plan, prepare, and model instructional activities for Montessori learning
• Use child-level assessment and growth data to modify instructional plans
• Mentor learners in the Montessori Credential Program
• Support the design and evolution of the prepared classroom environment
• Develop lesson plans with a diversity, equity, and inclusivity lens
• Assist the Head of School with school operations and administrative tasks
• Provide classroom coverage as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Primary Montessori diploma from an AMI, AMS, or other MACTE-accredited institute
• 5+ years of experience as a primary Montessori lead teacher (ages 3-6)
• 3+ years of experience after earning a primary Montessori diploma
• Proven track record of driving child outcomes and coaching educators
• Ability to meet Washington state credentialing and background check requirements
• Experience monitoring and maintaining accurate student progress records
• Experience working effectively across lines of difference

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in child development, curriculum, or early childhood education
• Knowledge of Reggio Emilia or Waldorf philosophies
• Experience applying DEI best practices in educator development
• Proficiency with child and adult learning assessment methods
