About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone coverage for the Acute Psychiatric Services unit
  • Document all telephone calls in the unit telephone log or Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of information in accordance with university and regulatory standards
  • Refer consumer calls to clinicians as directed by the Program Coordinator
  • Assist in the provision of direct care for individuals in the Emergency Care Evaluation Bed (ECEB)
  • Assist consumers and families with the completion of registration paperwork

Requirements

  • One year of mental health training or similar full-time paid experience in a mental health field
  • At least two years of college credits, preferably in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, or counseling)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document information in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to accurately enter information into databases
  • Experience using Rutgers UBHC registration software
