About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical support services within the Acute Psychiatric Services unit
- Assist in the provision of direct care for individuals in the Extended Care Evaluation Bed (ECEB)
- Maintain accurate and timely client records in accordance with Center policy
- Assist consumers and families with the completion of required registration paperwork
- Provide telephone coverage for the unit and assist with consumer greeting and escorting
- Support the management of consumer transfers into and out of the unit
- Assist Public Safety with searches for consumers and belongings during admission processes
- Demonstrate respect and dignity for all consumers, families, visitors, and staff
Requirements
- One year of mental health training or similar full-time paid experience in a mental health field
- At least two years of college (preferably in a related field) including twelve credits in mental health, social services, or human services
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation and Microsoft Word
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to accurately enter information into databases
- Experience using specialized registration software
