Mental Health Specialist III

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to patients within the Addiction Services unit
• Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu and participate in crisis intervention
• Assist staff nurses with directed tasks and patient care needs
• Transport clients to and from treatment and other related activities
• Maintain accurate consumer and patient records in compliance with university policy and accreditation standards
• Actively participate in group activities and support the mission and values of UBHC

Requirements

• 3 years of relevant full-time paid experience in the mental health field OR 1 year of experience plus relevant college credits (2 years/24 credits or 3 years/36 credits in psychology, social work, or counseling)
• Valid driver's license for client transportation
• NJ Social Work licensure (if applicable based on degree)
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds multiple times a day
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol tests
