About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, and group counseling using a brief treatment framework
- Perform crisis intervention and conduct appropriate student assessments
- Provide referrals for students whose needs exceed the scope of Counseling Services
- Consult with Wellness Center providers, faculty, students, and staff
- Deliver wellness education and outreach through public presentations on campus
- Maintain current counseling practices by attending professional conferences and training
- For Counselor II: Act as acting Director of Counseling Services as needed, including providing supervision to LAC counselors
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field
- Valid LAC or LPC license in the state of Arizona
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5 and experience in assessment and diagnosis
- Proficiency in creating and modifying PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to maintain up-to-date and active professional liability insurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a university counseling center
- Experience providing services to a diverse student population
- Experience with college counseling programming or working with adults in an outpatient setting
- Registered as a clinical supervisor on the AZBBHE site (for Counselor II)
