About the role
Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of design, from ideation and modeling to design for manufacturability and performance validation.
- Model performance characteristics of drop ejection designs, including thermal, electrical, fluidic, and mechanical parameters.
- Design new microfluidic MEMS drop ejection devices and conduct experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.
- Test and characterize ink/design interactions, including drop weight, printhead energy, ejection reliability, and printhead life.
- Advance and integrate material science innovations to improve drop performance and reliability.
- Develop and advance test solutions to measure and monitor the performance of drops and printheads.
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams, including wafer fabrication, ink chemists, firmware, and electrical circuit designers, to validate new solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
- Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
- Foundational understanding of basic chemistry and basic circuits.
- Proficiency in programming and modeling software.
- Skilled in analytical decision-making, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary, global teams.
