Member Technical Staff II (Data+Backend)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines and large-scale data platforms.
• Architect solutions for managing and processing large-scale datasets with high performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Write clean, maintainable, and extensible code following industry best practices and standards.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to standards.
• Implement frameworks for data governance, including data lineage, quality, traceability, and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to ensure reliability, availability, and SLA compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and product managers, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4 to 6 years of professional experience in Backend and Data Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala with a strong understanding of algorithms and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with distributed data systems such as Spark or Flink.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Deep understanding of distributed storage systems (HDFS, S3), modern file formats (Parquet, Arrow), and Lakehouse architectures.
• Knowledge of NoSQL stores (Cassandra, MongoDB) and relational databases (Postgres, MySQL).
• Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow and Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, and leveraging AI-driven tools to augment technical solutions.
• Proficiency with Data Visualization tools.
