Member of Technical Staff, Retrieval & Indexing

Responsibilities

• Build and operate large-scale full-text indexing systems to enable AI agents with programmatic access to the web
• Manage the full lifecycle of the index, including corpus selection and building searchable structures
• Develop signals and models to judge source quality and freshness
• Serve queries against the index with high speed and economic efficiency
• Anticipate architectural bottlenecks and evolve systems to meet increasing demand

Requirements

• Deep intuition on information retrieval and distributed systems
• Expertise in performance tuning and system optimization
• Strong knowledge of both classical and neural retrieval methods
• Ability to reason about trade-offs between cost, reliability, and latency
