Member Of Technical Staff, Kernel IO

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of high-performance storage protocol stacks for flagship FlashArray solutions.
• Architect resilient Linux and VMware initiator stacks to influence speed, reliability, and enterprise-grade scale.
• Drive performance profiling, tuning, and optimization of Linux storage target and initiator stacks, including NVMe over Fabrics and FC-SCSI.
• Upstream code enhancements and bug fixes to the open-source Linux community.
• Solve complex, low-level SAN congestion, multipathing, and kernel-level bottlenecks.
• Partner with major Fibre Channel and fabric vendors to integrate state-of-the-art PCIe Gen4/Gen5 and HBA technologies.
• Own the strategy for internal Linux kernel maintenance and test automation frameworks.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in writing, debugging, and optimizing low-level Linux/Unix device drivers.
• Deep understanding of interrupt handling, memory management, NUMA optimization, and lock contention analysis.
• Advanced mastery of SAN architecture and storage protocols, including Fibre Channel (FC-FS, FCP, FC-NVMe) and NVMe over Fabrics (RoCE, TCP, FC).
• Proficiency in C and C++ for core kernel and driver development.
• Experience with Python for driving advanced test automation.
• Mastery of low-level diagnostics and profiling tools such as perf, ftrace, eBPF, blktrace, or crash.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects and mentor peer engineers.
