Member of Technical Staff, Kernel

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of engineers responsible for Linux and VMWare initiator stack behavior
• Manage development and maintenance of Fibre Channel and NIC drivers on Pure Storage arrays
• Focus on NVMe (ROCE, FC, TCP/IP), FC-SCSI (FCP), and iSCSI interfaces
• Evaluate and optimize Linux initiator behavior for performance and correctness
• Maintain Linux kernels for internal testing and contribute bug fixes/enhancements to Linux upstream
• Resolve complex Fibre Channel bugs and enhance the resilience of the FC stack, including multipathing and link health
• Maintain NIC drivers and middleware C++ modules on Pure storage systems
• Document supported configurations and create compatibility documentation for customers

Requirements

• 5-15+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience in Linux/Unix kernel or device driver development
• Deep expertise in storage protocols such as SCSI (FC-SCSI, iSCSI) or NVMe Fabrics (NVMe/ROCE, NVMe/TCP, NVMe/FC)
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python
• Proven technical leadership and experience mentoring junior engineers
• Strong understanding of the VMWare initiator stack
• Solid knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP
• Experience with performance analysis and optimization for storage systems
• Demonstrated ability to debug difficult protocol, kernel, and system-level issues
