About the Company

Inherent is a well-funded, fast-growing neo-lab dedicated to developing AI that explores “unknown unknowns” to uncover paradigm-shifting research contributions. We are building a new frontier lab focused on recursive self-improvement and human-machine teaming.

Responsibilities

• Build novel internal tooling that integrates AI deeply into research workflows, operations, and decision-making.
• Design and run experiments measuring the economic and productivity impact of AI across the company.
• Invent new metrics for human-machine collaboration.
• Push the frontier of agentic coding and AI-augmented work internally.
• Partner with every team to find the optimal human-machine configuration for their work.

Requirements

• Deep software engineering or data science experience
• Strong expertise in Python
• Strong fluency with frontier agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex)
• Experience designing and analyzing experiments
• Strong analytical skills and rigorous measurement capabilities
• Interest in the future of work and AI organizational integration

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record of building widely adopted tooling
• Background in productivity research, applied economics, or organizational design
• Ability to move fluidly between writing code and quantitative analysis
• Experience instrumenting and measuring engineering or research organizations
