About the role

About the Company

Physical Superintelligence is a startup building AI systems to discover new physics at scale. With roots at Google, NVIDIA, Harvard, and Meta, our mission is to industrialize scientific discovery using artificial superintelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full infrastructure stack end-to-end, from cloud foundations to CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.
  • Build and operate multi-cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and adjacent providers.
  • Establish infrastructure-as-code discipline, designing modules for research workflows and training jobs.
  • Design and run release engineering pipelines to ensure fast, safe, and automated code deployments.
  • Operate production infrastructure powering the AI platform, including paid APIs, model training jobs, and agentic research workflows.
  • Define and meet SLOs, build observability and alerting, and manage GPU/CPU capacity.
  • Provide reliable cloud primitives and tools for product, security, and research engineers.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience operating cloud infrastructure in production at high-rigor companies.
  • Deep fluency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or comparable).
  • Expertise in CI/CD systems and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with major cloud platforms (GCP and AWS minimum).
  • Experience with machine learning and training-workload operations, including GPU scheduling and distributed training.
  • Strong operational excellence and on-call discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building CI/CD or release engineering pipelines from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with model serving infrastructure like vLLM or Triton.
  • Experience with production observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Background in scientific computing, HPC, or research compute environments.
