About the Company

Edison Scientific builds and commercializes AI agents for science. We are assembling a team of top researchers and engineers across AI and biology to build an AI scientist to accelerate scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases
• Contribute to frontend features and workflows in partnership with design teams
• Build and extend data pipelines that support AI agents and research workflows
• Implement monitoring, observability, and automated testing
• Troubleshoot issues across the stack and proactively improve system quality
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and research teams to ship new AI-driven features

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python or Node.js
• Experience designing and consuming APIs (FastAPI, REST)
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React or Next.js
• Working knowledge of relational or document databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data-heavy systems or scientific tooling
• Experience with ML/AI-adjacent platforms
• Prior work in startups or small teams with end-to-end ownership
• Knowledge of GraphQL or Kubernetes
