Member of Technical Staff -- Founding Engineer (Data)

About the Company

Twenty Labs is an applied research lab working on augmenting knowledge workers, starting with finance. We aim to deliver AGI to finance through our product, Compound. You'll be joining a highly technical founding team including leading researchers and engineers from Google DeepMind/Brain and Microsoft.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines and database systems that power Compound's AI agents
• Ingest diverse financial data sources ensuring speed and precision in querying
• Work closely with founders to rapidly integrate new data sources to provide context for AI agents

Requirements

• Deep expertise building and optimizing data pipelines (e.g., Beam, Spark, Flink)
• Expert knowledge of database technologies like PostgreSQL, SQL/NoSQL, MongoDB, or BigQuery
• Experience with large datasets at hedge funds, trading firms, or top-tier tech companies
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and distributed systems
• Experience deploying services using Docker and Kubernetes to GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Proficiency in at least one statically-typed language
• Ability to use AI to augment work while maintaining high standards for code quality and design
