Member of Technical Staff, Firmware, Linux, BMC

Responsibilities

• Implement firmware architecture and system management software across Flash Array and Flash Blade platforms
• Architect and design software with minimal mentorship
• Develop and review code, design documents, use cases, and test plans
• Write automated unit test suites and maintain detailed test case reports
• Provide software quality reports based on static analysis, code coverage, and CPU load
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure code aligns with product security goals
• Drive product life cycles with QA teams and act as a product owner for specific modules
• Maintain task tracking systems within an agile development environment

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming and scripting using C/C++, Bash, and Python
• Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals, including various distributions and packages
• Experience with Linux upgrade mechanisms and building/deploying Linux images
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Domain expertise in BMC firmware development on x86 or ARM platforms
• Experience with board bring-up and device drivers (I2C, SPI, PCI, SMBus, etc.)
• Knowledge of OOB or In-band System Management standards (IPMI, KCS, DMTF, Redfish)
• Understanding of REST architecture and JSON over HTTPS
• Familiarity with OpenBMC, Open Compute, and upstream open source communities
• Experience customizing Linux distributions for embedded or server applications
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and frameworks
