Member of Technical Staff (Engineering Lead, Developer Experience & Relations)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the developer experience portfolio across Perplexity API Platform
• Craft and curate developer-facing presence including docs, SDKs, CLIs, MCPs, and Agent Skills
• Build and nurture a thriving developer community to evangelize API offerings
• Represent the voice of the developer by understanding customer priorities and friction points
• Lead public engagement across developer events, social media, and forums
• Foster an ecosystem of community resources and examples
• Define metrics for developer health and satisfaction
• Run workshops, hackathons, and participatory programs
• Partner with technical staff, GTM, and support teams

Requirements

• Substantial experience with developer-facing products and growing adoption
• Strong empathy for developers across various technology stacks
• Detailed understanding of the developer ecosystem and API product selection
• Well-calibrated taste for API ergonomics and experience prototyping API-based products
• Sound understanding of the modern AI technical stack
• Strong written and oral communication skills for technical articles, documentation, and talks
• High standards for craft and quality with an eye for detail
• Ability to balance AI agent usage with personality and taste
