About the role
Responsibilities
- Translate requirements into working and maintainable software solutions for C5 and Cyber Solution Centers
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop software for target hardware
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software
- Support all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, implementation, and formal testing
- Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair defects
- Utilize various software languages including Java, C, C++, and Python across Windows, Linux (RHEL), and embedded real-time operating systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience
- At least 2 years of experience developing software in Java, C, and/or C++
- Experience debugging embedded applications on simulated and target hardware
- Proven experience with Hardware/Software Integration
- Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Experience using Jira or Rational Team Concert (RTC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile Scrum practices
- Active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance
- Experience developing device drivers and software for integrated communication systems
- Knowledge of network architectures, protocols, and VOIP/DSL communication systems
- Experience with object-oriented design, UML, and software modeling
- Familiarity with Cloud Application Development tools, VMWare, or OpenShift
