Member Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, tailored guidance to members regarding their HOOPP pension and retirement planning
• Educate members and third parties, such as financial advisors, on the value and benefits of the HOOPP Plan
• Manage complex member scenarios and de-escalate situations to maintain a positive member experience
• Support members with government benefits, tax considerations, and strategies to maximize retirement income
• Maintain deep knowledge of Plan provisions, pension rules, and related legislation
• Travel within Ontario to attend in-person seminars, events, and health fairs

Requirements

• 5 years of related experience in the pension or finance industry in a customer service role
• Completed College Diploma or University Degree
• Strong financial calculation skills with the ability to interpret and explain results
• Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
• Valid Ontario driver’s license
• Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC), CFP, or PFP designation (or willingness to enroll)
