Member Acquisition Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person outreach and enrollment conversations with eligible community members to drive same-day registrations.
• Guide individuals through registration, intake, and enrollment processes to maximize conversion opportunities.
• Execute enrollment activities at assigned partner sites, community locations, and Zócalo-hosted outreach events.
• Maintain disciplined follow-up to move referrals and leads into enrolled members.
• Accurately complete registrations and maintain timely activity tracking within Athena and other operational systems.
• Build trust quickly and effectively with community members to facilitate care connection.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in community outreach, healthcare enrollment, public health, sales, or field-based roles.
• Bilingual English-Spanish fluency is required.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally within the San Bernardino area.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Comfort initiating conversations with strangers in public settings and working independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Medi-Cal, ECM, Community Supports, or community-based healthcare programs.
• Experience using Athena health or comparable electronic health record systems.
• Familiarity with local community resources and the populations served in San Bernardino County.
