Melting Plant Operator

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw materials, alloys, and additives for melting using charging forklifts
• Perform charge calculations for various cast iron and steel alloys
• Operate induction crucible furnaces to melt and provide required melt qualities
• Adjust cast iron melt quality through thermal analysis
• Analyze steel melts using a spectrometer and perform analysis corrections
• Monitor melting, switching, and cooling systems
• Dispense liquid material into ladles at the required temperature and quantity
• Perform repairs and re-delivery of crucible furnaces
• Operate and maintain charging forklifts and perform cleaning work on furnace systems

Requirements

• Physical stamina and ability to handle demanding manual tasks
• Willingness to work in shifts
• Independent, careful, and prudent working style
• Ability to work effectively within a team and a strong sense of responsibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a foundry environment
• Valid forklift license
