Medium Voltage Electrician

Responsibilities

• Operate various MV (up to 34.5kV) substation apparatus and distribution equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and P&IDs
• Perform a wide variety of electrical job scopes including lighting and control panel upgrades
• Collaborate with the facilities organization and other internal teams
• Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback to internal teams

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of Electrician journeyman level or higher experience in industrial or commercial settings
• Completion of Substation Maintenance I training (AVO Training Institute or equivalent)
• Ability to complete Substation Maintenance II training
• Proficiency with hand tools, electrical meters, and test equipment
• Knowledge of NEC Code Book and sizing conductors and conduits
• Experience handling low voltage up to 480 VAC and medium voltage up to 34.5kV
• Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics
• Ability to work at high elevations up to 60 ft
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
• Ability to work weekends, nights, or on-call as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of installing and troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components
• Ability to produce parts lists, work plans, and as-built drawings
