Responsibilities

• Install, test, repair, and maintain high voltage electric power-controlling equipment and distribution lines
• Install or repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, and circuit breakers
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
• Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment
• Perform standard computations relating to load requirements
• Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with company safety requirements
• Operate power tools including drills, saws, pullers, and tuggers
• Perform high voltage underground termination/splicing and overhead line maintenance/construction
• Operate Bucket Trucks and Digger Derricks

Requirements

• Experience in High Voltage underground termination/splicing
• Experience in overhead line maintenance/construction
• Experience with Bucket Truck/Digger Derrick operations
• Ability to lift up to and in excess of 75 pounds
• Ability to work at elevated heights on ladders and scaffolds
• Ability to work 10-12 hour days in extreme weather conditions
• Class A CDL Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
• Ability to travel out of town and stay overnight as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
• One or more years of related experience and/or training
