Medicinal Chemistry Researcher

Responsibilities

• Lead medicinal chemistry research projects for AI drug discovery-based new drug candidate identification
• Manage internal and external CRO operations and collaborative research projects
• Design compounds and establish synthesis strategies (structure-based, ligand-based, etc.)
• Lead Hit-to-Lead and Lead Optimization stages
• Optimize candidates based on SAR, SPR, ADME/PK, DMPK, and in vitro/in vivo efficacy data
• Manage compound structure verification and purity using analytical instruments
• Design synthesis routes and review scale-up feasibility and productivity
• Determine patentability, design claim scopes, and manage patent applications
• Analyze competitive pipelines, patents, and literature landscapes

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Synthesis, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related fields
• 6 to 10 years of experience after obtaining a PhD
• Proficiency in English for business meetings and communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading research projects or drug development for neurological diseases
• Experience leading global collaborative research projects
• Experience in the full drug development process (Discovery, preclinical, IND filing)
• Experience working at global pharmaceutical companies
• Strong academic communication skills in English
