Medicinal Chemistry Researcher

Responsibilities

• Lead medicinal chemistry projects focused on AI-driven drug discovery to identify and optimize new drug candidates for CNS diseases.
• Design and establish compound synthesis strategies using protein structure-based design and ligand-based/structure-based drug design.
• Drive Hit-to-Lead and Lead Optimization stages, utilizing SAR, SPR, ADME/PK, and in vitro/in vivo efficacy data.
• Manage internal and external CRO operations and collaborative research projects.
• Oversee compound structure verification, purity management, and synthesis route design, including scale-up feasibility.
• Develop patent strategies, including landscape analysis, claim scope design, and patent application/filing.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Synthesis, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Chemistry.
• 6–10 years of professional experience post-PhD.
• Proficiency in English communication skills for meetings and global collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience leading research projects or drug development programs.
• Specific experience in developing drugs for Central Nervous System (CNS) diseases.
• Experience across the full drug discovery lifecycle, including preclinical studies and IND filing.
• Experience working in global pharmaceutical companies or biotech ventures.
• Strong background in academic communication and international collaborative research.
