Medication Technician

Responsibilities

• Administer medications according to healthcare provider instructions and within the scope of your license
• Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration, effectiveness, and any noted side effects
• Perform personal care activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental health conditions to the supervising nurse
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including transferring, walking, and dining assistance
• Promote a safe environment by following infection control, fire safety, and hazardous materials guidelines
• Provide companionship, comfort, and support to residents while encouraging participation in social activities

Requirements

• Ability to administer medications within the scope of your professional license
• Experience providing daily resident care and assisting with activities of daily living
• Strong observation skills to document and report changes in resident conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with resident transfers (up to 75 pounds)
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or home care facility
