Medication Technician

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of medication-related care for residents
• Maintain resident charts and ensure documentation is current
• Communicate resident status changes to supervisors and administrators
• Ensure accurate medication administration records (MARs) and physician orders
• Oversee the community absence medication program
• Manage medication room inventory and stock levels
• Coordinate with contracted pharmacies regarding deliveries and audits
• Monitor psychotropic medication use and resident behaviors
• Prepare and administer medications in accordance with regulations
• Assist in coordinating medical appointments

Requirements

• Completion of a certified Medication Technician training program
• Minimum of six months experience in long-term care or home care
• Current CPR certification
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal instructions)
• Basic math and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work flexible hours and provide coverage as needed
• Ability to lift and transfer residents up to 125 pounds
