About the role
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents as ordered by physicians
- Document all medication management functions and resident care in accordance with regulations and community protocols
- Monitor residents for changes in condition, signs of illness, or skin breakdowns and report findings to the Health Services Director
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and dental care
- Obtain, receive, and store medications from the pharmacy while maintaining a clean medication storage area
- Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, including inventorying possessions
- Maintain resident confidentiality and treat all residents with kindness, dignity, and respect
- Follow all infection control, safety, and universal precaution protocols
Requirements
- Completion of a Qualified Medication Aide program with a current, valid license
- 18–24 months of experience in a similar medication aide or resident care position
- Ability to communicate effectively with clear English speaking and writing skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 35 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, reach, and bend for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 12+ years of formal education
