Medical/Clinical Reviewer - Physical/Speech Therapist

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-billing audits on patient records to verify documentation accuracy and insurance alignment
• Ensure therapy notes and coding are accurate and compliant with regulatory standards
• Work with clinicians to identify and rectify documentation or billing discrepancies
• Provide feedback to clinical and administrative staff regarding documentation improvements
• Stay updated on insurance policies, billing codes, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with the billing department to resolve claims denials or rejections
• Prepare detailed audit reports and recommend corrective actions
• Assist in developing internal policies for billing and documentation standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field
• Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or auditing in a healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of US insurance billing practices and medical terminology
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for providing clinical feedback

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent)
