About the role
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, process, and pack patient samples for laboratory testing to ensure high-quality submission.
- Perform Point of Care testing using various assays and platforms, including transmitting results to patient charts and communicating critical values.
- Prepare specimens for send-out to reference labs, including spinning, aliquoting, labeling, and stabilizing.
- Maintain the laboratory environment and equipment in a clean, safe, and compliant state.
- Complete accurate documentation, registration, and tracking of samples using Atria and vendor platforms.
- Partner with clinical teams to provide feedback on sample quality and operational logistics.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and coordinating with departments for restocking.
- Support quality initiatives and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly logs to ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field).
- 3+ years of laboratory experience in a combination of Point of Care and High Throughput environments.
- Experience in Hematology and Chemistry.
- Availability to work a Wednesday through Saturday schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with waived and moderate complexity laboratory operations.
- Experience in phlebotomy and patient-facing care.
- Proficiency in laboratory processes such as accessioning, specimen processing, and quality troubleshooting.
