Medical Surgical Clinical Instructor

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical education and supervision for student groups in healthcare agencies
• Supervise care provided by a group of students (typically six per group) during clinical rotations
• Orient students to clinical areas and demonstrate proper medical procedures
• Conduct pre-conferences to establish priorities and post-conferences to facilitate student reflection
• Develop patient care assignments that allow students to meet course objectives, including medication administration and skill mastery
• Evaluate and grade student performance using established rubrics
• Coordinate with clinical site clinicians to assign students to patients
• Maintain professional relationships with clinical sites and participate in faculty meetings

Requirements

• Current MA RN license in good standing
• Minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Nursing or currently matriculated in a Master's in Nursing program
• Demonstrated clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in academic and professional communities

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed Master’s degree in Nursing
• Extensive experience in clinical instruction and professional development
