About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform appointment scheduling in accordance with VHA directives
- Manage patient communications, including telephone inquiries and follow-up contacts
- Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers
- Validate and update patient demographic information and health records
- Process community care consults using systems such as HSRM and PPMS
- Utilize medical software including CPRS, VistA, and VetLink to manage patient data
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and confidentiality regulations
- Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, and medical staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Ability to pass/possess a VA Public Trust clearance
