Medical Services Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical tasks including blood draws, EKGs, hearing and vision screens, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
• Room patients, verify information, confirm purpose of visit, and record vital signs and medical history
• Create and maintain accurate health record information, ensuring files are organized and updated
• Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding pre-authorizations and certifications
• Prepare exam rooms, arrange medical instruments, and maintain a neat, sanitary environment
• Support office operations with clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and collecting co-pays

Requirements

• One year of relevant experience, preferably in a medical office setting
• Certified medical assistant as defined by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to travel to provide coverage at off-site practices as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
• Completion of a medical interpreter training course
