Medical Science Liaison

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders (OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs), and healthcare providers
• Execute Amgen Medical function and product strategy to improve patient outcomes in the obesity space
• Conduct in-depth scientific exchange and peer-to-peer activities to advance the scientific platform
• Engage with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline
• Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders to inform corporate strategies
• Support Amgen-sponsored research and participate in congress activities
• Partner across Amgen field roles to create a coordinated experience for customers

Requirements

• Doctorate degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred) and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience
• OR Master’s degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience
• OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Medical Affairs experience
• Strong scientific communication and relationship management skills
• Ability to maintain high clinical and scientific acumen regarding healthcare trends

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison role within a biotech or pharmaceutical company
• Expertise in Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity therapeutic areas
• Experience working within the designated territory (MN, IA, WI)
• Extensive experience in clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research
