About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory agencies
- Maintain and keep current the Admittance Log Book
- Assemble and complete all new resident charts
- Maintain resident charts according to Medical Records Procedure Manual
- Establish and maintain a chart alphabetical filing system
- Follow procedures for releasing resident information
- Handle discharged residents’ charts and monitor for uncompleted records
- Enter information in the Death Registry and file death certificates
- Maintain master inventory list and conduct daily inventory counts
- Verify supply deliveries against packing slips
- Review and code resident charges daily
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in a health care facility
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in skilled nursing, sub-acute care, or memory care settings
- Basic clerical and computer skills including typing and data entry
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- English fluency required
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA or CHHA licensure
- Other state required training
