About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform front desk functions including answering phones, greeting patients, and checking them in.
- Manage financial tasks such as verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and processing patient payments.
- Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits to assist with documentation of assessments, exams, and treatment plans.
- Enter patient data, diagnoses, and pharmacy prescriptions accurately into the electronic health record (EPIC) system.
- Prepare deposit slips and run end-of-day reports to ensure accurate daily financial reporting.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and agency privacy regulations.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience using an EHR/EMR system.
- Experience with EPIC software.
